Finish for a kitchen table that will see kids: poly, hardwax oil, or something else?

White oak, used daily. I like the look of oil but I am scared of water rings.

Hardwax oil (Rubio, Osmo) looks best and is spot-repairable, which matters with kids: sand the ding, re-oil the spot, invisible. Water-based poly is more bulletproof but when it fails you refinish the whole top. I went hardwax on mine and re-coat once a year.
