Dishwasher not cleaning: the filter, the spray arm holes, and the inlet valve screen
Difficultyeasy
Time30 minutes
Pull the lower rack, twist out the filter, and be horrified. Clean it. Pull the spray arms (usually a twist or a clip) and poke every hole with a toothpick; seeds and glass shards block them. Run a cycle with a cup of white vinegar. If water seems low, the inlet valve screen (behind the kick plate, where the supply line connects) is clogged with sediment, or the valve is weak; a new valve is $25. Run hot water at the sink until it is hot before starting the dishwasher so the first fill is hot.

Glad it helped.

Question: do you need to disconnect power for this or is it safe to leave it plugged in?
Followed along, got it done in about twice the time quoted, but it is done and it works.
Unplug it. Always. Takes two seconds and the worst case otherwise is a trip to the ER.
Nice. What did the whole thing end up costing you?
